October London has built his career on a deep appreciation for classic soul, and Love Me For Me (Death Row Records) gives that sound plenty of room to breathe. Produced fully by Snoop Dogg, Soopafly and MyGuyMars, the 10-track album wraps London’s unmistakably smooth voice in warm instrumentation while turning its attention to love in all its complicated forms: desire, commitment, vulnerability and the need to be accepted as you are. There’s an old-school sensibility running through it all, but London isn’t interested in making a nostalgia record. He takes the language of traditional R&B and soul and makes it feel personal, contemporary and very much his own.
The album’s standout, “Silent Treatment”, leans into the less romantic side of relationships and the frustration that comes when communication breaks down. Elsewhere, “Body Talk” turns up the sensuality, and has people talking. “Dance and Mingle” loosens the mood, and “Pencil Me In” brings another conversational touch to an album that often feels like we’re listening in on the different stages of a relationship. That range is one of Love Me For Me’s strengths. London can move from romance to disappointment, intimacy to uncertainty, without overselling any of it; his voice does much of the work. And with Snoop Dogg, Soopafly and MyGuyMars keeping the production rich but uncluttered, the songs have space to settle in. Love Me For Me understands something the best soul records always have: love rarely comes in just one mood.
October London has emerged as one of contemporary R&B’s most distinctive voices by drawing from the traditions of soul while developing an identity of his own. Now he’s bringing the soul of Death Row Records into a new era of R&B. Signed to Death Row in 2022, the singer has built a lane of his own with his rich, unmistakable vocals and timeless approach to soul, earning super hit status with "Back To Your Place," "Mulholland Drive," and "Touch On Me." He’s earned a BET Award nomination for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, performed at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards during the Roberta Flack tribute, and landed "Make Me Wanna" on Barack Obama's 2026 Summer Playlist. Following The Rebirth of Marvin and October Nights, London enters a new chapter with Love Me For Me.
