“MarcLo taps into the next dimension of human potential.”

—Ones To Watch

Sometimes creativity shows up in the most unexpected circumstances. For MarcLo, 11 Days was born during a period of isolation as the Los Angeles wildfires devastated the region in early 2025. Rather than allowing those days to be defined entirely by uncertainty, the multi-GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist turned to music, creating a debut album rooted in resilience, gratitude and finding some light when things feel especially dark. The result moves easily through R&B, hip-hop, jazz, disco, pop and indie folk, reflecting the musical versatility MarcLo developed during years of writing and producing for other artists. But 11 Days isn’t about showing off that range—it’s about using it to make something joyful, hopeful and distinctly his own.

That spirit runs throughout the album. “Muni” takes on MarcLo’s relationship with money, while “Interest” turns the focus toward gratitude for the people who have supported him and “Marvel” celebrates being completely taken with someone you love. “Zoom Out” may capture the album’s larger philosophy best: sometimes we get so consumed with figuring everything out that we forget to step back and see what else might be possible. Then there’s the ’90s-inspired “September Baby,” a warm, groove-driven celebration that keeps the album moving. MarcLo has said he wanted listeners to be able to play 11 Days from beginning to end and experience whatever emotions came with it—joy, healing, excitement or inspiration. That intention gives the record its heart: music created during a difficult moment that chooses possibility over despair.

Marcus “MarcLo” Lomax grew up in South Florida, learning keys and bass in his father’s church while absorbing influences ranging from Stevie Wonder to Outkast and Pharrell. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a sought-after songwriter and producer as part of The Monsters & Strangerz, contributing to records including Zedd’s “The Middle,” Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus’ “Prisoner” and aespa’s “Whiplash,” along with music for Justin Bieber, 6LACK, Teddy Swims, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and others. Now the six-time GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist is putting his own voice at the center. With projects including the short-film soundtrack Origins and 11 Days, MarcLo is bringing the craftsmanship he developed behind the scenes into music built around his own stories—and giving listeners a chance to finally meet the artist behind so many of the songs they already know.
